Abigail Severance’s award-winning films have screened at a wide range of international festivals including Sundance (in 2002 and 2003) and the Los Angeles Film Festival (in 2000, 2001 & 2003). She has received five Best Short awards as well as UCLA’s Spotlight Award for Best Directing in both 2003 & 2004. Her work has screened on Showtime and the Sundance Channel and is distributed by Wolfe Video, Picture This and World Artists. Abigail has been included in several distinguished museum exhibits, including San Francisco’s Bay Area Now at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Roy & Edna Disney CalArts Theater (REDCAT) in Los Angeles. Abigail earned an M.F.A. in Directing from UCLA and works as a director and writer, as well serving on the faculty at CalArts and the Art Institute of California. She recently completed the Film Independent (FIND) Fast Track and Screenwriting, Directing & Producing Labs with her feature The Summer We Drowned. Two other features, Outlaw and Mine for A Day, are in development. |
